The Superfood Missing From Your Diet

The Superfood Missing From Your Diet

if we want to be able to focus, we need to make sure that we have enough of the substrates to create acetylcholine, and that's why dietary choline is so vital. - AH

Acetylcholine (pronounced, aceto-co-lean) activates areas of the brain related to focus. When you have more acetylcholine, you can focus better, enhance neural function and avoid cognitive decline. And the easiest way to get it is: Dietary choline

It's basically a nutrient. You need 500 mg-1000 mg per day. You could get this from a variety of foods and supplements. But one food stands out. And that's eggs, specifically egg yolks.

Sure, they have some cholesterol but they're one of the healthiest ingredients you can find. They have choline (for focus), amino acids (for muscle), and lutein (for vision), and can make you feel satiated.

From an evolutionary side, they're also one of the most complete foods. The yolk is the primary nourishment source of a baby bird. It 'lays out the entire building blocks of a healthy nervous system' and contains all the essential nutrients for development.

Action for the day

Eats eggs, whether they're scrambled, boiled, an omelet, anything works. Choose what you like the most and find easiest to make.

Scrambled eggs take 3-4 minutes. Steps: 1) put pan on stove, 2) put a bit of oil, 3) crack eggs, 4) add salt and/or pepper. 5) wait for 3 mins. Congrats, you're a chef now 👨‍🍳! If you need more flavor, add some cheese or vegetables.

If you're outside or in a rush, pass by a restaurant or your office/college cafeteria and get some prepared. This also saves time whenever you're on the go. Just don't throw out the egg yolks.

Each egg has 150mg of choline. Eat 3 per day to get most of the essential brain nutrients and the choline required to boost your health, focus, and performance.

So, the action: eat eggs. Make them or ask your friend/partner/parent to make them part of your next meal. Like, go ask them or make them, right now. Like, now, now :)

Have a wonderful day! Here's the clip from the podcast.
