Why You Need A Support Group

The negative effects of Tachykinin

Show support to the people around you.

This is not the kind of just hand-wavy, a new agey stuff like, "Oh, you know you need social connection." There's a actual neurochemical basis for social isolation and how it increases effects of trauma, fear, and anxiety.

Andrew Huberman

, we’re social creatures. We need socializing. When we don’t socialize, Tachykinin increases. It’s a molecule that works like cancer and makes life very, very dim. It increases anxiety, aggression, and inflammation.

If you’ve ever been alone for a while (like during covid), you know how this feels. And if you weren’t affected, other people were.

You never know what they are going through. Sometimes they’re waiting for you to talk to them. I’m sure there’s someone who would love to get a message or call from you. And someone you would love to get a message from.

Your parent, sibling, friend, or anyone. It’s not about ‘checking up’. It’s for both of you to know that there’s someone out there who supports them.

So, for your health and theirs, reach out to someone. Show them that you care.

Both of you will stop feeling so isolated with all the work and stress. And you earn the chance to connect at a deeper level.

So go ahead. Send the message, go up to someone, or ask a person how they’re doing. Not just the ‘I’m good, how are u?’. Be curious and considerate. Support their needs and desires.

If there’s a person you want to talk to, then go ahead and talk to them now.

If there isn’t, then support the next person you meet with today.

And if you wish someone showed you more support, I understand. Hopefully, they’re reading this too and they talk to you :)

Now it’s action time.

Go talk to someone. Message them now or walk up to them if they’re near you. Show your support.

Good job !
