Healthy food tastes better than you think it does

Everyone wants to be healthy and eat healthy. It gives you more energy, makes you look fit, and feel good as you age. It's a great investment. But here’s the problem. You think unhealthy food = exciting. And healthy food ≠ delicious.

But that’s simply not true. It’s a marketing gimmick. The way sugar is portrayed in society makes you think it's better than it really is.

Alia Crum studied mindsets and she found it to be true. There are billions being spent to make unhealthy foods look like they taste great. And of course, when you’re hungry or craving, you’re going to go for the thing that seems to satisfy you more.

But healthy food also tastes good. And if you focus on that, you’re more likely to eat it. If you want to convince someone to eat healthy, don't tell them "It's healthy for you". They don’t care. Instead, focus on making the meal more appealing.

When you’re choosing between fries and a lean protein salad. Think of how the salad will taste good. Think of the freshness, the light dressing, the crunch, and the juiciness.

Now I’m craving a salad. When you’re making a food decision, don't think about what’s ‘healthy’ and that the chocolates look cool. Instead,

Remind yourself that healthy food actually tastes good.
