Feel better with 5 minutes of stretching
"Stretching can contribute to improvements in overall general health: balance/stability, improved posture, smoother gait and elevated physical performance. It can also reduce pain and inflammation."
If you're feeling a bit tight or not moving enough lately, stretching for just 5 minutes today will give you a deep sense of comfort.
Here is all you need to do:
Just Start. No need to complicate it with what's 'optimal'.
Hold for 30–60 seconds (a.k.a static stretching')
Take a short rest period.
Do another 1 or 2 sets.
That's the first exercise complete. Do this for another 2 and you're good to go.
Exercises you can try: hip flexor stretch, cobra pose, pigeon pose, toe touch, thread the needle, etc.
Andrew recommends: standing quad stretch, standing hamstring, figure 4, and supine spinal twist
Note that you don't need to feel pain during this. It's easy and relaxing. Maybe you can set a 5-minute timer, play some music, and do it now!
I bet that you'll feel good when you're done. Hope you enjoy it.
