How to Enhance Your Romantic Relationships
people who go through this exercise report feeling as if they know the other person quite well and feeling certain levels of attachment or even love and desire for the other person that they would not have predicted had they not gone through that process - AH
There's a popular list of questions that's been shown to bring people romantically closer. It can enhance existing couples relationships or even help 2 random people fall in love. It's called 'the 36 questions to fall in love'. It's simple. You just ask each other questions from the list and attentively listen to the responses.
Why does this work? The basis of love and attachment comes when our brains/nervous system sync with the other person's. We can get this through dates, touch, shared experiences, etc. or just sharing each other's personal story and narrative.
Now, 36 questions are a lot. And most of them are deep. So you get longer (albeit better) responses and interesting follow-up questions. This could take you a few hours. So, instead, just check the list and choose 1 question you want to ask the person you want to get closer to. Again, could be someone you're already dating or just want to connect with on a deeper level.
You could wait until you see them in person, or just send it by text. Being face-to-face has more eye contact and physical touch but you will still get the autonomic synchrony through texting. I'm not just saying that, it's a study from Cell Press journal, excellent journal ;)
