How to Enhance Learning & Memory (part 5/5)
Hey, hope you had a good weekend. Last week you learned about the ways to improve your memory and ability to learn things faster. There’s one more concept to highlight before moving on.
Although repetition and emotional awareness put you in the right state to learn. The learning itself doesn’t happen during those phases. They simply highlight to your brain what’s important. The real learning happens during…
The strengthening of connections in the brain, the literal neural plasticity, the changing of the circuits occurs during deep sleep and non-sleep deep rest.
Sleep doesn’t just improve learning. Sleep is the learning.
During sleep, your brain reviews everything that happened in the past few days. It looks for moments that had high alertness or ended with a spike. And replays them hundreds of times until the learning is stamped in your psyche.
It’s a nice way to look at it. Like, tonight, before falling asleep, imagine your brain replaying your day and saving info for later. Pretty cool.
So, in order to learn or remember anything, you need to get great sleep.

Okay maybe not like that :). But there are experiments on this. Students learned something new. Then slept or napped a few hours after. Sleeping made them remember twice as much of the info.
So if you’re learning something new. Let’s say you want to read a book, learn a new language, play an instrument, memorize formulas, or anything else.
Your # 1 priority should be getting fantastic sleep. This is your action of the day. Get good sleep today . Prioritize it.
To summarize this week. Let’s make a tiny learning protocol. You can use this whenever you will learn something. Screenshot it maybe.
Exercise in the morning. Get a blood pump before reading/learning.
Connect emotionally to the content by relating it to your goals, fears, or interests. This triggers neuroplasticity.
Spike adrenaline after the session. Coffee, cold shower, sun, sports.
Deep sleep or nap a few hours after the learning session.
Repeat the session at regular intervals.
You can fit them all into one 90 minutes. Exercise, get emotional, get alert, nap or NSDR, and repeat it 10 times. And you’ll never forget the things you learn.
Good job for learning all this info .
Hope you have a wonderful week.
