Day 1 To Improving Focus
Day 1 To Improving Focus
This week you'll learn all the tips related to improving focus. You don't have to do all of them. But experiment to see which helps you the most. Let's start.
I try to get at least one focused ultradian rhythm block per day. I leverage the fact that these exist in all of us as a way to engage in focused bouts of mental work once, twice, or three times per day - AH
Ultradian rhythms are 90-minute fluctuations between focused and calm states of mind. During your day, you get two or three 'peak rhythms'. In them, your brain naturally increases cortisol and adrenaline to keep you laser-focused on a task.
So, working in these 90-minute intentional sessions is better than one long block. It's okay if you aren't fully focused during them in the beginning. This gets easier over time.
Now look at the tasks you have today. Is there something that needs a good amount of focus? Great, plan on doing it within 1 ultradian cycle. Maybe look at the time and schedule to stop 90 minutes later. Or set a 90-minute timer on your phone. You'll get in the zone faster.
Reader, to maximize focus, time your next work bout to 90 minutes.
Great job!
