Walk for 10-20 minutes After Eating

You'll feel less bloated and ease your transition to a fasted state, especially after big dinners!

Walk for 10-20 minutes After Eating

Explanation: After eating, your body uses a lot of energy to digest food. So with large meals, you get a dip in energy for the following 2-3 hours. It’s better for you to transition into 'fasted state’. A fasted state is really helpful when you go to sleep or when you want to focus.

A walk helps you accelerate the transition into a fasted state by increasing the rate of gastric emptying time. It also stabilizes your blood glucose increase after the meals. So, you don’t feel a big dip or crash after eating.

Well, with Thanksgiving and holidays coming up, I thought this is a great tool for you. Even if you don’t celebrate anything, use this when you start eating late or going out for dinner a lot. It clears up your stomach for better sleep.

No more feeling bloated and lying lazy on the couch. Instead, you’ll have more energy and wake up the next morning feeling rested and get a lower chance of having a headache.

Note that you can do any form of light exercise, not just walking. Just don’t be the person doing situps next to the Christmas tree. Minor confession: I used to do pushups at weddings 🤸🏻🤵. These days, I just… don’t get invited :) I wonder why!

Anyway, this tip is simple.

Go for walks or do any light exercise after heavy meals.

For Andrew’s full explanation, check this clip from the podcast. And side note: next week we’re doing a Mental Health series. You will learn what’s going on inside your head and you take the action steps to fix it. All you need to do is show up once a day.

Happy Thanksgiving! (side side note: make sure to share your thanks and gratitude with others)
