How To Get A Growth Mindset (part 5/5)
When there's a setback, someone with a fixed mindset will start thinking, 'Maybe I don't have what it takes?' They may get defensive and give up. A hallmark of a successful person is that they persist in the face of obstacles, and often, these obstacles are blessings in disguise. - Carol Dweck
Growth mindset in a nutshell: See everything is here to serve you. Look at the side that gives you a better future instead of dwelling on what holds you back.
Huberman discussed this for learning skills. But it's for life. You faced many challenges before. Breakups, death, losing, missing goals, addiction... Whatever it is, you can use it as a chance to grow.
When something happens, a growth mindset is always looking forward. It wants to find the lessons and doesn’t let itself stay stuck in problems that are already gone. This doesn't mean you should ignore past experiences or PTSD. It means that your main goal should be growth.
If you want to stay the same... there's no point in reading this or reading anything. You already believe you can't change.
That belief sucks. And it's completely false. Do you want to stay in the same place for 50 years? Same complaints, same fitness, same talents, same satisfaction, same dreams, same people. Or do you want to grow?
Well, now you know what a growth mindset is, how it works, and how you can use it. You know that if you face something hard, you shouldn't run away, you should work harder on it because you can do it. You should embrace the stress and the challenges. You should be proud that you're working hard. You should believe improvement is possible. So let's do this.
So now it's on you . Answer these questions in your head one by one
